Overview
The Levitt Pavilion for the Performing Arts in Arlington provides 50 free concerts a year with a broad-based concert calendar of professional musical artists from world music to jazz and country to hot Latin rhythms. The Levitt Pavilion’s programs provide our community with an accessible, safe gathering place for free music and performing arts open to everyone – all ages, ethnicities, neighborhoods and income levels, especially those who could not afford to enjoy and benefit from live music and the performing arts in any other way.

Description The pavilion is an outdoor performance venue with open lawn seating.
Patrons bring lawn chairs and blankets, coolers, and picnics.
No glass containers are allowed.
Capacity The Levitt Pavilion lawn can hold about 2,500. There is room for people
to spill over onto Abram Street and up the steps of City Hall.
Tickets All Levitt Pavilion concerts are free.
Show times Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 8 p.m.
Children's shows are at 10:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday
Facilities There are port-a-potties on the west end of the lawn, and patrons have access to
the restrooms in City Hall across Abram Street. Concessions are available for sale,
including snow cones, soft drinks and snacks.
Parking There are almost 1,000 parking spaces available in lots surrounding the Levitt
Pavilion. A detailed parking map is available on the Web site.
Format Professional artists perform in five different genres: Children’s, World Music,
American, Country and Music Café (jazz, blues, gospel)
Attendance In 2009, more than 48,000 people attended concerts from 51 cities and three states.
The pavilion's largest audience was 3,000 for Ray Wylie Hubbard.
Technical The Levitt Pavilion has the very latest lights and sound, featuring Peavey sound
equipment. The Levitt’s lights and sound are the same system that country star
Kenny Chesney uses on tour and was written about in several national sound
trade publications and Web sites last year.
Staff Three full-time employees
Seasonal technical crew, including professional sound engineer
Volunteers Four to six volunteers per concert fulfill a variety of jobs, including staffing the
information table, collecting donations, answering questions and greeting patrons.
Board The Friends of the Levitt Pavilion Board of Directors is made up of 27 business
professionals and dedicated civic volunteers. Kristin Vandergriff is the board chair.
The Levitt Pavilion’s Advisory Board members are: Betty Buckley, Tony Award-
winning singer and actress; Kirk Franklin, Grammy-winning recording artist; Melissa
Lawson, Arlington winner of NBC's Nashville Star; and B.J. Thomas, five-time
Grammy-winning singer/songwriter.
Funding The Levitt Pavilion and the free concerts are funded by sponsorships, grants and
foundations, an annual membership campaign, an annual benefit concert and
donations.
